UPDATE - HB2873
The attack on Arizonan's Referendum Right's is moving
I hate that we are here, but this awful piece of voter suppression legislation is getting closer to the finish line. Thursday, the striker passed the Senate Committee of the Whole as amended, which means no additional changes were made to the goal of suppressing all Arizonans’ right to referendum and, more specifically, Marana residents’ right to have a say in the data center rezoning and what happens in our town.
There are two next steps, the first is that Rural Arizona Action is coordinating with folks here in Marana to go to the Capitol on Monday and work to get this stopped. They have a petition they will deliver to the State Legislature to show how strongly this piece of legislation is opposed. You can see the petition and sign here.
Additionally, they are rallying at the Capitol on Monday. If you’d like to go to the State Legislature to join in opposition to HB2873, please contact Rural Arizona Action’s Mobilization Manager. Her information is provided below.

While we have seen some minor positive elements in this legislative session, this is by far the biggest threat and the worst possible outcome, not just for Marana, but for residents of Arizona as a whole. Please continue to push State Legislatures and the Governor’s office to reject this bill and preserve every Arizonan's right to maintain their mechanism for accountability in their local government!

I know this probably doesn’t have anything specific to deal with the previous issue here but I’ve been wondering if water 💦 is used to cool 🆒 the data center (which is still out for debate maybe ?) wouldn’t that increase the humidity in the general vicinity of the center since there is such quantity used from my understanding??
If so that could drastically change the atmosphere in the area significantly don’t you think 🤔?
I signed the petition and have sent it out to others to sign as well. Thank you Colin.
